Short Notes on Screen Printing and Art Training for Youth and Telugu Migrant Students

As an Initiative to increase job opportunity for Youth and Students, Rural Development Trust and Lions Club International Jointly organized a three days Training Programme, in Art and Screen Printing from 26th December 2010 to 28th Dec 2010.

The Training was held at Aringar Anna Community Hall at Thiruporur, Kanchipuram Dt. The Training session started at 8-30 AM every day and Went on till 5 O’ Clock in the evening. The trainers, Mr Sathyan who was a specialist in Art and Mr. Jayakumar and Mr. Kumaran who were specialists in Screen Printing gave Training to all the participants of the Art and Screen Printing Training Programme.

Inaugural Session

The inauguration of the Training Programme was held on 26th December, 2010. The Chief Guests were Lion PMJF U R Ganesan, the Zone Chairperson, Lion S. Pitchmani, the District Chairman – Self- Employment, Lion Lava Kumar, Lion Gopinath, the Secretary Chitlapakkam East, T. K. Elumalai, the and The Managing Trustee, Rural Development Trust, Mr S .R. Mohan , Mr, Asokan.

Lion PMJF U.R. Ganesan inaugurated the Training Session by lighting up the lamp followed by his presidential address to all those who came to attend the Art and Screen Printing Training Programme.

Qualification

The Educational Qualification was from 8th STD to Degree completed or being pursued. The age – group was between Years 14 to 40 years.

Training course content and inputs:

In this training the children were taught, drawing pictures in simple way for screen printing, Adopting tools, various style of screen printing Techniques, Multicolor painting, coloring pictures, dark room screening, cloth screening children poster making and innovative Techniques using etc. over 120 Telugu Migrant Children youth and few surrounding rural poor children were benefited in this training. The children who participated in the training were reached their learning’s and benefits which encourage them to improve their skills in future carrier.

Certification

There came about 120 Youth and Students to attend the Art and Screen Printing Training Programme and every one of them got a certificate at the end of the training programme which can be very useful to them when they search for jobs related to Art and Screen Printing. The Certificates were duly signed by PMJF Lion J.S.Vijaykumar, District Governor, Lion S.Pitchumani, District Chairman – Self Employment and Mr. C.Sathyan, the trainer and were distributed by Lion S. Pitchumani and Managing Trustee, RDT T. K. Elumalai to all the participants.

As a result of this training and scope, RDT has planned to give this kind of Training to other migrant students who study in RDT special schools and other rural poor children in RDT service areas.
